Mike Hodge is NRC's Programs Manager. Mike has been active in neighborhood organizing since 1977. He has worked with neighborhoods in developing leadership, finding common interests, finding solutions to neighborhood problems, and creating affordable housing for low-income families. Mike has a Master's Degree in Church and Community Ministry from Scarritt College here in Nashville. |

Carol McCullough joined the Neighborhoods Resource Center staff as a Neighborhood Organizer in January 2003. Carol first encountered the power of organizing in 1998 when she organized a union at her workplace in Portland, Oregon. In 2000, she moved to Chicago and worked as a labor organizer providing assistance to healthcare workers interested in forming a union. She went on to work as an Education Organizer for the National Training and Information Center, where she provided training and technical assistance to parents, youth and community organizers interested in education issues. Carol is a native of Tennessee and graduated from Reed College in 1996 with a degree in Political Science. |

Yolanda Vaughn joined the NRC team to organize neighborhood groups in North Nashville. Yolanda brings a wealth of experience to our organization, as she has worked for Nashville non-profits since 2000. Favorite Things: Spending time with family, Rock Band (she's an amazing singer), mafia-themed video games (cross her and you might find yourself at the bottom of the Cumberland wearing concrete shoes). |

Melissa Gordon is a Neighborhood Organizer at NRC. As a social worker and grassroots activist, she has worked with non-profits for over ten years in the areas of domestic violence, financial assistance, mental health, youth development, fundraising, and voter education. She also uses social justice through the arts to create community change through acting and spoken word. Melissa is a Nashville native and has an M.S.S.W. degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Social Work. Favorite Things: Writing books, teaching creative writing, playing basketball, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family. |

Tom Appel entered the world of neighborhood organizing after serving for several years as a minister in the Anglican Church, working with youth near London, England. In this role, Tom experienced the joy of community problem solving through forming successful partnerships with neighborhood groups, churches, and local authorities. A natural bridge builder between diverse groups of people, Tom is passionate about helping the neighbors of south Nashville organize to develop their communities. Tom graduated from Belmont University in 2004 with a degree in English Language and Literature. Favorite Things: Adventures with my wife, Joanna; playing guitar, anything with a Frisbee, writing poetry. |
